Some news to take your minds off the vitriol of the anti- environmentalists.

A short item in today's edition of Science [
Vol. 323. no. 5917, pp. 998 - 999] notes that very few of taxa have recovered enough over the last 35 years to be taken off the US endangered species list. A recent review indicates that 80% of the 1300 species on the list will need constant conservation to survive. Ongoing habitat destruction and other threats were going to make the situation worse.
