I am calling for expressions of interest in participating in the Birds 
Australia North Qld 2009 Carpentarian Grasswren survey.  Last year we found 
five new sites for Carpentarian Grasswrens and 71 sites for Kalkadoon 
Grasswrens.  This year has seen great weather for breeding so all birds should 
be there in numbers. The surveys will take place in July and August.  The 
surveys involve walking across very rough country.  Your hearing needs to be 
able to register high-pitched calls.  You will need to devote at least two 
weeks to the survey.  You will have to find your own way to Mount Isa. For more
