I have been driving a game fishing vessel out of Port Stephens lately, mostly
to the continental shelf area.  Bird numbers seem low compared to other years,
however since being here, (2 weeks), I have seen a wandering albatross, many
wedge - tailed and fleshy footed  SWs, a few great winged petrels, a lone white
necked petrel, several sooty terns (ad and juv), a juv white - tailed tropic
bird, Aust. Gannets, Pomarine Jaegers and several unidentified petrels
(gould's?) and shearwaters (fluttering/ hutton's/ little??)  As we are
constantly on the move, good views of many birds are not possible, although I
did manage a pretty good pic of the W N Petrel and tropic bird.
