Morning all,

I had an enjoyable morning at Lake McLarty last Sunday (25/01). Wader
numbers were down compared to the previous weekend and the spotted crakes
that had put on a great display previously were nowhere to be seen. BUT the
snipe was still present (in the same area along the eastern edge) and giving
excellent views. A photographer friend of mine also came along and managed
to get great photos of the snipe after an hour of painstaking stalking,
which included about half an hour of inching forwards lying belly down in
the mud. That's dedication for you!

I'm not sure if anyone else has managed to get photos of this bird but I'd
be interested in hearing from anyone that has.

You can see the pictures on Simon's web gallery at: http://www.simonpynt.com

The link is in the middle of the page at the bottom, you have to hover your
mouse over it until a menu saying 'click here' comes up.

Cheers,

Stewart Ford
