Hi there,

Rob Hynson and I spent the morning at Barren Grounds. Best birds were:
1 Brush Bronzewing (flushed from the main trail)
2 Brown Cuckoo-Doves
20 Topknot Pigeons
1 Peregrine Falcon (adult male)
3+ Gang-Gang Cockatoos (1 male, 2 females, plus more heard)
10+ Southern Emu-Wrens
2+ Eastern Bristlebirds
2 Pilotbirds (at the education centre)
2 Tawny-crowned HE's
1 Black-faced Monarch
1 Bassian Thrush(at the education centre)
4 Beautiful Firetails
Yellow-bellied Water-Skinks (if not Southern)
1 Eastern Water-Dragon
Christmas Bells (Blandfordia nobilis)

[no Heathwrens, no Ground Parrots, no Potoroos]

On the way back we stopped quickly at Wattle Flats at Royal NP. Best birds were:
3 Collared Sparrowhawks (2 begging fledged juv., aerial food passing; 1 juv
seemed to be a male, the other a female)
1 Grey Goshawk
1 Azure Kingfisher
a partially destroyed Satin Bowerbird bower

Cheers,

Nikolas
