I was at the viewing area near the end of the runway at Brisbane
airport round 5.45 pm today (awaiting the arrival of a Victorian
birder) when I noticed a lone Apostebird walking around the car park.
Apostlebirds are somewhat uncommon inside the Scenic Rim before so
observed it with interest (from a distance of 5 metres).
Being a family-oriented bird, it was obviously feeling isolated. It had developed an association with a Crested Pigeon and was following it around like a juvenile following its parent. It begs the question as to what circumstances would result in a lone apostle at the airport ... Regards, Laurie. =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
