I had a look in the Cudal/Canowindra area this weekend. There were many flocks of Superb Parrots but predominantly young brown eyed birds. Some adults had 4 begging immatures following them around. It must be an excellent year for them. I got no feel for which direction they may be moving.

Superb Parrots come through the Orange area, including Molong and Cumnock, regularly each year between September to December. An article in the local Central Western Daily a couple of months ago suggested the birds are moving
from the northern to southern range at this time.

Hi Everyone,

I am currently here in Cumnock south of Dubbo in NSW where there are large
flocks of Superb Parrots flying around the area each morning.

Its so good to hear that unique call of theirs and to see these groups
settling in the trees before heading north to who knows where. There are no crops being harvested in this area at the moment so I'm not sure where they
have come from or where they are going.

Jan
