I was on hide duty at Edithvale Wetlands (30km south of Melbourne -
Melway 93 D8) this afternoon.

The painted snipe was again visible from the hide for much of the
afternoon, although it kept to the reeds. It wasn't visible from outside
the fence.

Also sightings of Baillon's crake (2), spotted crake (4), a spotless
crake and buff banded rail (2).  The water level this weekend was
perfect for these birds.

The hide is open 1-5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays
