Whilst the Far South Coast of NSW, particularly the Bega Valley Shire,
is not the Southern Highlands of NSW, the responses relating to Olive
Whistler locations are now including a wider area so I would like to add
those from further south.
The Far South Coast Birdwatchers are about to go to print with a
publication, Birdwatching on the Far South Coast of NSW, Places to Go
and Birds to See.
The entry for Olive Whistler is as follows:
Olive Whistler *1 Pachycephala olivacea
Status: Breeding resident. Usual in forests of Yambulla, Imlay Creek,
Brown Mountain, Rutherford Creek and observed close to coast on
occasions in autumn/winter e.g. Mogareeka/Tathra, Nethercote, Sth

Imlay Road. Invariably in moist forest, often rainforest or thick, moist
eucalyptus regrowth 3-20 years after fire or logging.

A bit out of our area they are also on Gulaga Mountain at Tilba.
