Hi All,
Friends of mine have a property near Mittagong in the Sthn Highlands. For the
last five years a pair of swans have made the two dams on the property, their
home. Every year they breed around 3 to 4 cygnets and every year, at around 3
months of age, the cygnets disappear. No remains found.
The obvious answer is foxes. Laying fox bait is not an option. Upgrading the
property fence lines is also not an option ($).
Can anyone help with other reasons for their disappearance or options to help
these cygnets enjoy a longer life ????????
Would appreciate your thoughts.
