Jodie my mum fed the magpies for a number of years at our place in Brisbane.
Some may have a problem with this but as a child i loved it. There is one thing
you need to be aware of. Word spreads fast! What started out as one bird with a
broken beak soon turned into close to 30-40 magpies some days all keen for a
free feed. They get quite game the old magpies and we often had them venturing
into the house. My next door neighbour at Jimboomba fed one for quite some
time. Come nesting season the crazy bird would only swoop him and drew blood on
a number of occasions so don't expect any special treatment. By the way they
love cheese. Regards John Hammond
