Hi Jill,
Oh dear....! Well, you do have a problem.
Pythons I've seen in Africa and here will eat anything alive and catchable 
(last Feb, we saw one about the size of yours which had taken a Kookaburra in a 
tree the day before, at Mount Glorious - we saw photos of the actual event)!!

Can and would the Australia Zoo people catch it (?!?) and keep it as a 
permanent exhibit? Especially being of such an amazing size. I suppose they 
have a reptile section?

Your trying to "keep" both snake and dog won't work, for sure. Does the snake 
have a mate?? i.e. is there just the one?
