On my way back from a weekend in Wagga I called in at Ingalba Nature Reserve,
south-west of Temora. It was a great spot. The reserve (or the part I saw) is
mostly box-ironbark-callitris woodland. In about an hour's walk I recorded 32
species. The highlights were - a large flock of White-browed Woodswallows
with a few Masked Woodswallows, Gilbert's Whistler, Varied Sittella, Crested
Shrike-tit, many Rufous Songlarks in full voice, Western Gerygone and, always
my favourite, Red-capped Robin. Surprisingly, although the ironbarks (mostly
Mugga) were in flower there were very few honeyeaters. This is a place I hope
to return to.

Cheers,
Jill
