Hi all,

2008 is the 25th anniversary of the Victorian Twitchathon. So if you are
planning to race it's time for you to start organising your team and work out
your route.

In Victoria there are 2 competitions planned for 2008; 24 hour race and 8 hour
race. The race is scheduled for the 8th and 9th November. (Please note that
this year we will allow racing on the earlier weekend, 25th and 26th Oct, but
only if the November date is impossible for your team to participate.)

The major prize for this years event are fantastic; a weekend for 2 in Leeton,
NSW, with free entry to attend the 2008 Australian Birdfair, held 15th and 16th
November (see http://australianbirdfair.org.au). Andrew Isles has also kindly
donated a wide range of natural history books (see http://www.andrewisles.com).

It is important to note that all the money raised from the Victorian
Twitchathon will donated to bird conservation and education through the Birds
Australia (Vic) research grant. Without the money raised from this event the
research grant would not be possible. For further information see
http://www.birdsaustralia.com.au/the-organisation/vic-research-grants.html

Please contact me and let me know your intentions for participating in 2008.
Also DON'T hesitate to contact me if you wish to join a team.

Happy birding.
