From my days back in SA I remember reports of Glossy Blacks crossingBackstairs Passage from Kangaroo Island to the Fleurieu Peninsula (though sadly never got to see them myself). HANZAB has references to various reports from the '70s to this effect. Other SA birders may have more recent observations? Red-tails used to be reported from the SE just over the border from Victoria. In fact I remember an SAOA campout at Bangham CP where they were recorded the day before I arrived (and not seen again for the duration of the campout!) cheers Peter Peter Taylor Birding South West 3/13 Young St Manjimup WA 6258 http://birding-southwest.mysouthwest.com.au |
