Dave makes a good point Peter, did your friend mean how long *can* they
live, or how long do they normally live, which are two very different
things. An example: Sulphur-crested Cockatoos have been known to live over
100 years in captivity, however in the wild the life expectancy is more like
30 years. I would imagine Butcherbirds are less long-lived than that, but
there would still be a gap between potential longevity and actual normal
life expectancy. The first would be easier to measure than the second.
