G'day Terry

The platypus are at O'Reillys Vineyard on the way from Canungra to
O'Reillys. It is well signposted and on the right hand side of the road
about 5 - 8 km from Canungra. Visitors are welcome. I saw Glossy Black
Cockatoos yesterday and today about 16 km from Canungra towards O'Reillys.
This is on the climb up the mountain where the road can be quite narrow.
The birds were in the vicinity of a small sign which simply says OR 20.
It is often difficult to park so it is best tom take the opportunity when
you can and to walk to look for the birds. Be very careful with traffic on
this narrow often one lane only road. Make sure you stay on the left - a
lot of Europeans and North Americans trend to stray to the other side.

The Casuarinas (or Allocasuarinas) are the trees with the very fine
needle-like leaves which are very common in this area.

Enjoy your birding.

Cheers

Roy
