Hi everyone,
In contrast to Sundayâs HBOC Seawatch (see separate message), the conditions
this afternoon were ideal for observing pelagic birds off Nobbyâs, Newcastle
with strong southerly winds and sizeable south to south-east swell.

Many Albatross flew past at a much closer range than normal, although due to
the poor light (I wasnât able to get there until 1615) I wasnât able to assign
any of the Black-broweds to a race ID. The birds moved past in a constant
stream, with 4 Albatross visible within one scope field of view being seen a
couple of times. A single Prion was seen flying north just before dusk.
Below is a list of birds seen between 1615 and 1745 (numbers are estimates only
for most):
