Hi folks,

Just to let those interested know that Jack's trip report
for our recent Arnhem Land trip (AKA Steggles) is downloadable from
www.mywidebay/jack
His other reports over the last couple of years are there also.
They take a minute or so to download but are 100% Jack's work
(other than my photographs), and quite an interesting and
entertaining read seen through his eyes.

Jack, now 12 ,is up to 615 species on his Aust List adding Australasian
Bittern and the stint since Arnhem Land.

As an aside, we saw the Little Stint at the Western Treatment Plant
at 11am Sunday, 20th July at those ponds near the end of Beach Rd.
Given that we were the first to 'officially dip' ,I think, on both Red-legged
Crake and Slaty-backed Gull, maybe we got a bit lucky this time? Anyway,
I hope others get onto this stunning little shorebird in it's breeding plumage
finery. It was terrific catching up with Paul and Ruth. Despite what the
birding 'fun-nazis' say, there's nothing like a good old-fashioned twitch to
get the blood flowing (which is probably a good thing in Werribee at this
time of the year....especially for 3 Queenslanders!)

Cheers,

Bill
