Hi all,

The VORG "Bird Atlas of the Melbourne Region", 1977, has Brown Thornbill listed
for all but one of the 54 ten minute blocks that they surveyed around
Melbourne. The one block where they were not seen was around the Melton area.
It was recorded as breeding in the eastern suburbs but the information in the
book is not detailed enough to show exactly where.

They seem to be resident in the Melbourne General Cemetery, Carlton. They are
even one of the two native birds on my back yard list (the other is Silvereye).
My back yard is in Carlton North and is about 5 metres by 3 metres of concrete
with one wattle tree.

cheers

Jen
