If the book is Onley and Scofield (Albatrosses, petrels and
shearwaters of the world)
get it....great field guide....generally, Shy, Yellow-nosed and
Black-browed are seen
from land. Once you have the bk, the diagnostics (esp underwings and
relative size etc)
are actually quite simple.
