Hi all,

Surely, as in all purchases of goods or services, one checks the price and
judges if, in ones own opinion, that price is fair or not.

If I buy a ride on a pelagic or any other birding trip I do so because I am
happy to pay the amount asked so as to receive the hoped for outcome – a
pleasant trip with pleasant companions and the chance of seeing some birds.

It matters not to me what others pay, I have paid what to ME seems fair value
for money. If it is a good trip I am happy to pay the same again; if not, then
I will go somewhere else. And the same argument stands for a box of eggs, a
book or any other purchase.

But for the main point of my email: I doubt that all this discussion will
resolve anything. Trips will come and trips will go. We will all make our
choices freely based on the available information at the time. All that is
happening now is that my inbox is clogged with this circular discussion that I
doubt will ever end in mutual agreement.

Please, has anyone seen any interesting birds around Victoria that may lure me
from my cold little house. I promise not to get upset because I have had to pay
$1.70/litre for petrol when someone else is getting it for $1.64 (smile).

All said with a big smile and the hope that we are all seeing interesting birds
and listing them on the B-A atlas.

Oh, and happy winter solstice everyone

Jen
