Apparently (I've got a mate at the Cat Protection Society) cats fall
under the companion animal act and you are allowed to remove strays
from your property using appropriate force, and in a humane manner.
Also, the way to lobby against these rules, or if you think your
council should have a curfew is to write to your local member, State
and Federal, and tell them you won't vote for them unless they support
a curfew. Some councils (Taren Point as an example) don't 'believe' in
stray cats, stating that they are all just 'lost'. A bit of lobbying
here and there could see some positive results.
