Yes we are very much aware! I reported seeing two pairs with 3 and 4 goslings in early March and put it up on birding-aus. Since then several people have seen them and I'm delighted to hear they are still present. I wonder where the young ones were? Maybe flown off by now or hiding in the reeds. The water was about half full when I saw there with a lot of grass in front of the main road viewing spot - John & Shirley, has the water got near the bird hide yet? There was so much growth on the lagoon floor that even large birds like geese could remain heasily hidden.

Hi to all, especially Armidale Birders,
Were folk aware that there are two Magpie Geese at Dangars Lagoon near Armidale, NSW?

I guess people are already aware, but having lived in northern NSW some years ago, we were surprised to see them when we visited the lagoon today, while on holidays.

Is this normal for their current range, or have they been expanding their range?

If people were not aware of them being there, then we thought some may be interested in visiting to see them.

Cheers,
John & Shirley Tongue
(normally of) Ulverstone, Tas.
