Hi Laurie,

Noisy Pittas are autumn-winter migrants to the coastal lowlands of the NSW north coast, and presumably Queensland, so Pittas turning up in unusual places at this time of the year would be expected. A bird loving friend of mine had a brother with a cat who lived at Yamba, NSW. The cat managed to kill three Pittas in his brother's backyard within a few days before the cat was 'dealt with'.
