Hi all,
Just an update on the screening of "Chasing Birds" at the Sydney Film Festival
on the 15th June which was mentioned in an earlier thread. As way of an
explanation of the film, 3 NSW Twitchathon teams were accompanied by film crews
(complete with 'big furry things') back in the 2003 event. Something like 200
hours of footage and dialogue has been condensed into a 52 minute feature,
which has been accepted into this year's film festival. The finishing touches
are apparently being applied as we speak, including individual "soundtracks"
for each team! Nick Day is also busy producing "bird illustrations" for the
film, but in what capacity they will appear is a mystery.

I spoke to Gina Twyble of Luminous Films (who produced and made it) yesterday.
She has been in touch with both the ABC and SBS about airing it later this year
and she is confident of getting it to air within the next 6 months. SBS had
actually shown more interest initially, but it appears that both could be
potentially interested. She is trying her best to get it screened around the
time of the 2008 Twitchathon, which would be fantastic for event exposure and
flexing the fundraising muscle.

The Hunter Home Brewers will be in attendance (we will be the ones wearing dark
sunglasses and sitting in the back row!).
