More likely they were Ibis mistaken for Pelicans. We caught this error
too.

Yesterday morning on our local ABC (Melbourne 774), a listener called in
from somewhere along the Murray River with the news that pelicans were
nesting in trees and this is a sure sign that a big flood is on its way.

The caller had clearly observed what he believed to be pelicans nesting
in trees and I was wondering what he actually saw; perhaps pelicans
roosting on Ibis nests?

David
