Leucistic Galah -

Yesterday afternoon about 3.30 pm, we were travelling towards Melbourne 
on the Hume Freeway. About 11 kms north of Broadford, we saw a cockatoo 
perched on the Armco barrier beside an overpass.   It was clearly a 
Galah, but its plumage was mostly white -  not pure white,  but rather 
dingy as if there were pale grey feathers  scattered on the back and 
wings.  The face and cheeks were rather pale pink  and so was the upper 
breast.  At first I wondered if it could be a hybrid with  Long-billed 
Corella parentage, but it was exactly the size, shape, attitude and 
general jizz of a Galah.
