RFI Alice Springs area

Yes, things are very dry-we haven't had any rain to speak of for over a 
year.  Birds are still here.  I don't have anything specific to add to 
previous postings re Alice.  There would be many things in the archives and 
another useful site is alice springs field naturalists.  Tim Dolby also put 
up a useful report which covered the sought after birds.  I intend shortly 
to do a list of where I have seen species around Alice, but unfortunatley 
for your purposes this is not done yet!  Just quickly the race of black 
chinned honeyeater I have seen at Ellery creek big hole, Ormiston pound and 
N'dahla gorge.  If you don't know this bird it has a loud and distinctive 
call.
