Black Mountain Road, Kuranda, Far North Queensland March 31 A brief 0700-0830 walk

Cassowary male with 3 well-grown chicks, comes most days.
Wompoo Fruit-Dove 3
Superb Fruit-Dove 2 m
Double-eyed Fig-Parrot 2-3 over calling
Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher 1- migrants heading back north again, we get them every year in late March-early April Blue-winged Kookaburra 1, a new bird for the immediate area, and unexpected in rainforest,
Pale-Yellow Robin pr. look to be nesting along drive way
Pied Monarch 1
Barred Cuckoo-shrike 5-6, quite a few still around
Cicadabird 1 calling, getting late for them to be still singing. This is the rainforest taxon here with the call a bit like Shining-Bronze- Cuckoo.
Fairy Gerygone pair
Rufous Fantail- first of the winter on 30/3
Victoria's Riflebird males have moulted and now look quite smart again!
Spotted Catbird 4
