Hello all,
After a fantastic weekend of birding on CI, I again returned to
Cocos for another 4 days birding. We arrived to a very different Cocos after
only 3 days on CI. Cocos had recieved a large amount of rain and North Park
Swamp (CPH Site) and the wetlands were half full of water. The first bird we
saw was Barn Swallow, a species we didn't see the previous week.

Cocos sightings.

20+White-breasted Waterhen, seen daily.
60+ Green Junglefowl seen daily
500+ Red-footed Booby
15 Lesser Frigatebird
3 Great Frigatebird
1 Western Reef Egret
1 Great Egret
8 Pin-tailed Snipe
11 Saunder's Tern
5 White Tern
1 Dollarbird (north Asian subspecies)
3 Barn Swallow
50 CI White-eye
+ several other more common species.

Future trips Nov/Dec 08 & March 09.

Cheers
Richard Baxter
