Oh sure, they'd been there for quite some time so the likelihood of them
going in the next week was not high.

Come On,
Surely conservation/feral control, in this case, 'nipping a potential
new feral in the bud' (so to speak) is a much higher priority that
twitching! If they waited a week the birds could have flown off to GOK
where! Others would be complaining about 'their' slack behaviour in
failing to take action to protect our local wildlife and habitat! Wendy
