It did pass thru my mind, and the foto (esp. the stance) does appear
"Eagle-ish". But I'm certain it was a Harrier due to the flight behaviour and
the way the bird held it's wings. I know that some literature says that Black
Eagles soar with a 'V', but that is probably what a bird that size does - it
'soars'. This bird 'floated' and 'jinked' as opposed to 'soared'. The size
pretty much eliminated Black Eagle, but there wasn't anything to make
comparisons with (apart from a parked aeroplane!).
I did see a Black Eagle in Thailand, but only an adult bird that was perched.
The uniform darkness of the Eagle is why I probably dismissed it too early -
the young Black Eagle does fit a lot better for plumage (except for the size
difference).
