After seven years of drought, the flora and fauna of inland Australia
are springing into life.

The waters that flooded the Queensland towns of Emerald and Charleville
are surging downstream and lakes, swamps and marshes in western Queensland
and New South Wales are now brimming with life.

Hundreds of thousands of water birds have flocked to these lakes and
flood plains and not far behind are a team of scientists keen to record
the rejuvenation of the once-parched outback.
