Pink-eared Duck systematics

I was doing some searches trying to find more information regarding
aging and sexing Musk Ducks based on the size of their dewlap and
while I didn't find man details, I did run into something that caught
my eye. According to some sites, the Pink-eared Duck (I like the name
Zebra Duck better) may not be closely related to shovelers at all.
I've always assumed they were some sort of shoveler, so this came as a
surprise. I've looked in the new Clements which lists Pink-eared Duck
(Malacorhynchus membranaceus) immediately after the Shovelers right at
the end of the Anas genus. (Anus is s pretty huge genus.)

Can someone tell me where the Zebra Duck is positioned in the new C &
B or offer any information on current thinking regarding the
relationship of the Zebra Duck to other living ducks/shelducks?
