Hi David,HANZAB states with respect to juvenile YBSB "Smaller than adult; plumage like adult non-breeding but with sooty-black distal third or tips to primaries. Bill shorter with smaller spoon, apricot coloured; eye colour much darker than in adult and legs duskier". Despite the bill colour description the juvenile is illustrated with a yellow bill!
