I suggest you stay in Jabiru rather than Cooinda.  Although the units are
nice as is the restaurant the camping ground is packed. And if there's an
important sporting event on  a large television screen will be set up for a
cast of hundreds!

I also suggest Pine Creek or Mataranka rather than Katherine.
