Well... close is a relative term I guess: No offence intended (either to
Augustians or Manjimupians).
If many farmers keep these birds and they regularly wander about, is it
not possible that there is a self sustaining, wild population of
escaped/walked away birds? They seem to have done so in Queensland.

There are many farming properties around Manjimup and the south west
that have Guineafowl and I often see them wandering about (including
along the SW Hwy where they sometimes come to grief). I've never
considered any as wild birds however.
By the way, Steve, here in Manjimup we don't consider ourselves as being
"close to Augusta"!!!!
