Steve has spoken to Ian Smith who said that he has had a free flying pair which have come and gone as they please for four years! They don't seem to go far because they frequently return.

Steve Whitmore, secretary of The Pheasant & Waterfowl Society of Victoria, advises that the Radjah Shelducks seen on a private dam at Winchelsea probably come from a near neighbours waterfowl collection. Ian Smith, whom we understand has a collection on a large property with lakes near the Old Cape Otway Road in Winchelsea, has numerous pairs of Radjahs which breed annually. Whilst he attempts to pinion all birds it is difficult to ensure all are caught.
