Sorry, but I doubt whether the geese come within the provisions the N.P.&W Act 
for NSW. They are
foreign birds and may be covered by other legislation.
They are on private property and the owner of the property may well be able to 
claim ownership of
the birds simply by "finding" them on his property and there being no other 
owner. He may not
want them destroyed. Similarly he may object to people entering upon his 
property and
discharging firearms.  If the situation is not covered by the present 
legislation, either State or
Commonwealth, then there is no authority to go charging in and destroying the 
birds. If the birds
are foolish enought to take up residence in a National Park it is a different 
story as they would be
feral fauna in a national Park and can be destroyed.  If they stay on private 
property they may
well have a certain degree of protection regardless of the potential to become 
a pest species.
They may even disappear as quietly as they arrived.
