There are some diagnostics for distinguishing S. decaocto and S. 'risoria' listed at

But maybe they are out of date.

As for the common names they are bewildering. Trevor's web page actually says "I immediately thought it was a Collared Turtle-dove (also called a Barbary Dove)".
