Although the Fairy Pitta was still present until dusk yesterday, with several of us enjoying excellent views, up until about an hour or so before dusk, it had not been seen today. So anyone planning to go should await further news. The watch will continue tomorrow and the search area expanded. What a magnificent bird! At the 'Woolies' oval in Broome this morning, Frank O'Connor and I saw about 20 Eastern Yellow Wagtails (M. tschutschenis = the old M. flava simillima) and one Green-headed Wagtail (M. taivana). No sign of the Red-throated Pipit. On the adjacent wetland there were 10 Wood Sandpipers and at least 2 small and very short-tailed Snipe.
