A Eurasian Curlew was seen and photographed at Eighty Mile Beach, west of Broome, WA, today by members of the AWSG during a banding activity. Chris Hassell found it and some 20 observers, including Adrian Boyle and Frank O'Connor, saw it. Although long expected and several previous unconfirmed reports this is likely to be the first for Australia.
