My telescope and tripod came in a cardboard box. It fitted them but only in
fully demounted state. To store the tripod in partially demounted state (and
thus be quicker to erect), it needed a longer box. I built a wooden box to
house both neatly (with some bubble plastic wrapping). However I am not sure
how good that advice is. It sort of works, although my carpentry skills are
substantially less than mediocre.

  G'day

Does anyone know about tripod cases that will offer protection while my
  tripod is in the hold?
