Hi Rick,
Great bird! I've put your record up on Birdline Victoria - see
http://www.eremaea.com/ (click on Birdline Victoria, right hand side).
The Geelong Field Nats would also be very interested in this record -
see http://home.vicnet.net.au/~gfnc/. They may also have other records
of White-headed Pigeon in the greater Geelong area. (I'd be Interested
to hear.)
The most westerly recent record I have of a White-headed Pigeon is at
Ferny Creek near Sassafras NE of Melbourne (30/10/2007). This year (this
spring season) they have also been record Swan Reach near Lakes Entrance
(09/10/2007) and at Mallacoota (10/07/2007).
Also Satin Bowerbird is reasonably common in the Otways. A good place to
find them is at the Sheoak Panic Area (on the Allenvale Rd) a couple of
km behind Lorne.

Single white headed pigeon sighted on several occasions at feeder in
Hopetoun Tce Lorne. Adult bird. Photographed at feeder. Nice
sighting...anyone heard of them being this far west?
Rick Purcell.
