I was out walking with the kids about 2pm today when I heard a very low "goom"
sound coming from the reeds by the pond. I've never seen or heard an
Australasian Bittern before, but that's the best match I can find on the BOCA

Is there anything else that sounds like that that I should listen to? Any tips
on time of day to look for it, if that's what it is, and how it feeds? Do they
hang around, or move on quickly?

If anyone's interested in trying to find it, I was on the south side of the
pond, near the western end.
