Hi Simon, Thanks for the note on Central Park, it is indeed a great place, and not just for birding. We met some local birders there last year, and for half a day joined a regular group who bird the Park once or twice a week, meeting at The Boathouse Restaurant 9.00 am Sundays, (74th St and East Drive) and 9.00am Fridays at the Conservatory Garden (105th St and 5th Av). Great people, they know all the best spots, seasonal birds, local lore. The walks last 2 - 3 hours, a bargain $5.00 donation covers it, Birding Bob the leader is as good as any pro guide, he works for the Park authorities. I'll forward his last report separately. Cheers Michael |
