But the new runway will suffice until 2030, well after those promoting it for short term political gain have faded from the scene

of course by 2030 there will probably be insufficient air traffic to warrant a second runway - the amount of oil remaining by then will push the price of air travel upwards and reduce demand so the second runway will become redundant

and global warming and the resultant rise in sea levels will mean that Brisbane airport will be awash with the waters of Moreton Bay

and the white bellied sea eagles (if they are lucky enough to survive) will have a whole new saltmarsh  for a hunting ground
