After the first two days of summer, we reverted to spring conditions in Brisbane today. I was wandering through the Roma St Parklands and came across two species I hadn't noticed there before - a Rufous Fantail and a couple of Drongos - both in the "rainforest section". Then as I was crossing the bridge at the end of the "lake" I saw a small bird disappearing into the "ferns" - I initially thought it would be a Reed-warbler, but on closer inspection it was a Brown Honeyeater sitting on a nest a metre from the walkway.

Regards, Laurie.
