Hi all,

I'd like to concur with Chris Lester on Eaglehawk Neck being a great
launching point for pelagics. I organised one back in August this year
(where we had Grey Petrel, Salvin's Albatross, White-headed Petrel and
Providence Petrel - trip report was posted to Birding-Aus), and found that
the short distance off the shelf (about 1.5 hours cruising) and reasonably
protected journey out and back made for a great trip. And of course I'd
imagine the further south you get, the greater the chance for a really
cracking Antarctic rarity.

I certainly wouldn't dismiss St Helens either (not that I've been there but
I've heard good things).

Regards,
Chris
